Making Empathy a Visible Skill
Interplay takes compassion out of the realm of mood or personality. And makes it a behavior—learnable and repeatable. We teach healers how to make empathy:
Deliberate –Your staff learns a step-by-step process for demonstrating their empathy. So they know how to take action.
Visible – Your staff doesn’t need to become compassionate. They simply need to make their compassion more visible to patients. So patients can see you’re on their side.
Consistent – Your staff will be able to use their skills in any situation—even in crises when it’s most important and most difficult.
You identify the most challenging people and situations your staff encounter. Our professional actors turn them into live scenarios— full of the fear, vulnerability, or grief of any real-life situation. And our trainers teach your care givers to support patients without taking on guilt, frustration, or anxiety
Your training experience will feature:
- An emphasis on empathy. Focused on teaching your staff to make a heartfelt connection with patients, letting them know you hear them, and expressing sincere regret without taking blame. Not general communications. But the kind of experience that a frightened and grieving family really needs.
- Live scenarios under stress. Not just lecture, or manuals, or role play. So training is more engaging and effective.
- An 8-person program team (4 trainers, and 4 actors) to provide ample practice time and a high level of support for every attendee.
